Helicopter Training Facility

Helicopter Training Facility

The Medium Support Helicopter Aircrew training facilities project is a 40 year concession (with a break option exercisable by the client after 20 years) for the design, construction, management, operation and financing of a simulator-based training facility for Royal Airforce (RAF) helicopter pilots. Financial close occurred in October 1997 and the project involves capital expenditure of approximately GBP100 million.

Six simulators were installed in a building at RAF Benson in Oxford, UK, and construction was completed in August 2000. The project receives revenue based on usage by the Ministry of Defence and third parties, with guaranteed minimum amounts.
