Health and Safety Laboratory

This unique facility is located in 550 acres of the Peak District close to Buxton in Derbyshire, UK. The GBP60m bespoke building was constructed by Shepherd Construction and involved the building of new workshops and offices in Buxton and the disposal of old facilities in Sheffield. Financial close occurred in April 2002.

Major works were completed in 2004 and facilities management activities are now the responsibility of Interserve, a UK-based services, maintenance and building group. The laboratory facilitates forensic investigations, cutting-edge research and the investigation of all incidents that are being examined by the Health and Safety Executive.
