Cleveland and Durham Police Tactical Training Centre

Cleveland and Durham Police Tactical Training Centre

This GBP6 million purpose-built facility was designed to train police officers in the use of firearms and was the first of its kind to be developed under PFI. It currently provides 6,200 training places per annum.

Covering an area of more than 4,000 square metres, the centre incorporates a number of different facilities, including two different types of firing range, a vehicle stop and search area, an abseil tower and climbing wall, an external baton range and a skills house for close-quarter contact training.

Catering services, IT systems, grounds and buildings maintenance, security and specialist cleaning are all supplied by Equion FM (a subsidiary of John Laing plc), who are also providing range, armoury and systems maintenance.
